Commune cards

Each of the 1300 communes within the Paris Ile-de-France région is présented through 3 cards:

MOS 94
MOS 99
Ortho 99

The land use commune cards display a land use commune map with a key of 16 key elements. In addition, some charts show the distribution of land use within the commune, in area and in percentage.

The land use inventory is a very important data layer in the régional GIS of the IAURIF: in French it is refered to as the "MOS", which stands for "Modes d'Occupation des Sols". The MOS is a land use inventory with a very detailed nomenclature (83 key elements) which is compiled by the IAURIF by the means of aerial photographies and complementary information collected in the field or from admistrative files. The first digital inventory started in 1982 (year of the photographic cover) and lasted five years. Regular updates were carried out in 1987, 1990, 1994 and 1999 (the last one has been realised by the means of a regional digital orthophoto).
The MOS is a regional tool which allows to follow-up the speading of urbanization, the changes of urban fabrics and the transformation of rural areas.

The orthophoto commune cards present an aerial image of the commune taken in the summer of 1999. This orthophoto has been purchased from the National Geographic Institute. It covers the whole region with an initial resolution of one meter per pixel (this resolution is not maintained in the cards, because of the scale).

How to run the application ?
Choose a commune, either by clicking in the map or by selecting in the alphabetical list.
When a commune card is displayed, the two others can be accessed directly by using the links at the top of the card.
