Shanghai World Expo 2010

Shanghai is hosting the next World Expo from May 1 to Oct 31, 2010. The main topic "Better city, better life" will consider the economic prosperity, the innovations of science and technology, and the remodelling of communities.

As the IAU îdF had deeply contributed by its studies to the development of a "new Shanghai" since the 80's, it became obviously a partner of the association "Paris Île-de-France Expo 2010 Shanghai".

Two projects should be here emphasized:

• first is the preparation of a 32 p small book, published in French & Chinese, about the IAU îdF studies in Shanghai and their consequences: contribution to the Pudong project, transports and infrastructures, planning & development for the downtown & for the Lujiazui CBD, assessment of the successive Master plans, etc.)
• IAU îdF takes also an active part into the Scientific Committee grouping in particular the Regional Council, the City of Paris, the Paris Board of Trade & Industry. This structure has to prepare the "Paris Île-de-France Week" planned for July 12-17, with various round tables about "sustainable development : strategies & governance", "enhancing the historic heritage" and "technologies and local sustainable development".
