Financed by the World Bank and driven with two other French firms, Egis-Bceom and Brgm, a test-study is now prepared by IAU îdF about the impact of the climate change over four coastal metropolitan areas : Casablanca, Rabat, Tunis & Alexandria. A special consideration will be given to the natural hazards and to the urban vulnerabilities (today and in 2030).

One expert from IAU îdF was selected (with two other professionals from the Île-de-France Regional Council) by the Ministry of Construction to make on Feb, 2010, a review of the Urban Master Plan of Greater HaNoi to 2025 (with Vision to 2050), project which should be finalized in 2010.

Several missions of cooperation have been undertaken in 2009 about various projects and detailed pre-projects in Beirut (Green Plan, Light plan) and around (project of a regional nature park within the Metn area).

IAU îdF is associated with the renowned local firm CNERU in order to prepare the Algiers metropolitan area Strategic plan. This include spatial, economic and environmental contributions.

After having successfully driven with the Urban Agency the global updating process of the Casablanca Master Plan (approved on Oct. 21, 2008), IAU îdF is now in charge of the preparation of a sustainable development plan for the Anfa district, in which is located the former city airfield, a 350 ha area soon to be redeveloped in the central Casablanca.

IAU îdF is now working with Egis International about e reform project of the Libyan urban planning policy (legal framework, processes and documents).

An IAU îdF representative is established in Damascus since 2008. He is involved into the technical assistance to Lebanon and the consultancies in Algeria and Libya (see above), and manages directly several works locally (urban historical heritage and development strategies in the outskirts of the Syrian capital city).

After having driven the project of the Urban Development regional plan (Udrp) for the Santiago de Chile Metropolitan Region at the end of the 90's, IAU îdF was asked last October 2009 to participate into the preliminary phase of the upcoming Regional Development Plan, which would replace the previous UDRP project.
IAU îdF was member of the French delegation at the 5th World Urban Forum, held in Rio last March 22-26.
On this occasion was signed an agreement with UN-Habitat for the involvement of IAU îdF within the next "World Urban Campaign".
IAU îdF had also actively contributed to a document published by FNAU (see under) about "Strategic Planning : experiences by the French urban planning agencies in France and abroad".

IAU îdF is a member of the French National Federation of the Urban Agencies, which regroups the 52 existing agencies in France. This includes the management and leadership of the "International Group", one of the various clubs working about various topics (urban projects, regulations, communication, etc.) within the Federation. The next meeting of this group will be held in Bordeaux next June 9, the main topic being "the role played by the planning agencies into the decentralized cooperation of their communities".
A document will be published by AfD and Fnau next October about this during the annual Fnau meeting in Rennes, in which IAU îdF AND the Lyon Agency will manage a workshop about "sustainables cities in developing countries".
An e-newsletter is published (in French and English) since 2005 by the International Group, giving news about the international activities of the agencies, books, meetings, etc. Most of the information is available on the English site www.fnau-international.org.
A member from IAU îdF is regularly associated to the preparation of the applying files for registering new landscapes dto the World cultural Heritage : due to this, he is one of the co-editors / authors of the "Handbook for conservation and management of the World Cultural Heritage Landscapes" recently published by Unesco.
As a member of the network now grouping some 40 European cities and urban areas, IAU îdF participates into several working groups (employment, main infrastructures, etc.) and into the EuCO2 project (strategies for reducing GGE’s within 16 urban areas). But also, it welcomed last May, 2009, more than 400 people in Paris for the Metrex annual congress : the central topic was "Sustainable development and metropolitan areas : a new dimension to planning".
The IAU île-de-France international activities include short-term consultancies, participations into multi-disciplinary studies and the management of some major projects. Beside the publications on sale in english, most of the technical reports are available at the Media Library.
